INTRODUCTION:
Continental Aerospace Technologies] (Continental) has received field reports of engine damage resulting from oil filter media clogging oil passages as a result of improper oil filter removal; such as, piercing the oil filter housing with a screwdriver or other sharp object.

12/11/2019 M20V ALTERNATOR WIRING, MOUNTING AND SECURITY [Chapter 24 - ELECTRICAL POWER]

INTRODUCTION:
There was a report in the field, of an M20V Acclaim Ultra with an alternator wire damaged on the RH exhaust crossover tube. Mooney Engineering has determined the wire was incorrectly positioned. This allowed the wire to contact the RH exhaust crossover tube causing a short circuit to the alternator. This resulted in damage to the wire and crossover tube. This requires mandatory compliance by owners. The attached compliance card needs to be filled out and returned to Mooney International Corporation upon completion of this Service Bulletin M20- 340A.

INTRODUCTION:
This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) informs owners and operators of an issue with certain Avidyne SkyTrax6XXA (TAS6XXA) series traffic advisory system flight software versions that may cause traffic to not display on an interfaced display system. This issue affects TAS6XXA, part number (P/N) 700- 00185- ( ), with flight software P/N 510- 00296- 000 Revision 00, Revision 01, and Revision 02, commonly known as Release 2.0.0, 2.0.1, and 2.0.2. This issue is corrected in flight software Revision 03 (Release 2.0.3).

INTRODUCTION:
Mooney International Corporation wants to emphasize the importance and care while towing a Mooney aircraft in close quarters, in the hangar and on the ramp. The Mooney Aircraft Flight Manual and Mooney Service and Maintenance Manual recommends that the use of only a Mooney approved hand tow bar be used for moving all Mooney aircraft models.The tow bar attaches into the nose gear axle crossbar. A turn limit indicator and turn limit placards are visible on the nose gear assembly, proper care should be taken to stay within these specified limits. Towing by tractor or other powered equipment is NOT RECOMMENDED.

5/23/2019 Aircraft Batteries During Storage

INTRODUCTION:
When an Aircraft is placed in storage or remains dormant for an extended period of time (more than 3 weeks), it is best to disconnect the batteries or use a Battery Tender. This practice will eliminate unnecessary drain on the battery if parasitic loads are present. Parasitic load scan deplete battery capacity and result in battery sulfation or low state of charge condition.

INTRODUCTION:
Continental Motors, Inc. (CMI) has seen evidence of dimensional non-conforming conditions for a limited production of flanged nuts (P/N 652541). The manufacturer’s stamp is used to identify those flanged nuts which require replacement(maker’s mark, “ZB” on the outer- edge of the nut head, see Figure 1 on attached document).

If under 500 hours in service, perform radius blend inspection and modification no later than the next scheduled 100- Hour/Annual inspection. If 500 hours or greater, perform radius blend modification at the next maintenance event (not to exceed 50 hours).

INTRODUCTION:
Several field reports indicate the potential for fracture initiation on engines (exceeding 500hours of operation) at the radius edge of identified cylinder heads produced on or after 01NOV 2014 (see Figure 2). The affected cylinder casting can be identified by the “filled” top finflange area above the exhaust port as shown in Figure 1. found in the attached document.

Service Instruction M20-88A- There have been occasions when the elevator trim control wheel has been manually turned to the extreme nose up or nose down condition and the electric trim system was unable to move the trim indicator nut off the stop at the next electrically activated command. Manual movement must be the initial action to get the trim indicator nut off the stop, then the electrical system will operate normally.
